John left town and he’s headed for the State Fair

Suns beatin down it’s as hot as a desert
Need some lemonade or some sweet iced tea

Judges gather round they’re lookin for a fat pig
John’s standin there just as happy as can be
He won a ribbon and a hundred dollar bill

Suns still beatin down it’s as hot as an oven
Need a bit of shade or a nice cool breeze
Gonna need a ticket and a 1 dollar bill

Judges gather round they’re lookin for some sweet jam
Martha’s standin there she’s as happy as can be
She’s holdin a ribbon and a hundred dollar bill

Suns shinin down it’s as steamy as a cow pie
John sees Martha showin off her prize

John buys Martha a sweet apple pie
